A sludge dryer has a centrally located rotor having closely fitting blades. It rotates in a precision-machined jacketed shell. The feed sludge is converted into a thin film, which is intensely agitated due to action of the high-speed rotor. The sludge goes through phases of paste and wet powder, before coming out as a dry powder.


Technoforce Sludge Dryers convert concentrated effluent slurries into a dry powder mass in a single step :

There are two types of configurations available for sludge dryers.


Vertical Sludge Dryer:
Technoforce introduced the first vertical sludge dryer in 1995 for the zero liquid discharge system. It suits well for feeds in the form of solutions or dilute slurries.

Horizontal Sludge Dryer:
Horizontal sludge dryer is amore versatile alternative.It is suitable for solutions, dilute slurries, thick slurries, pastes or filter cakes. Therefore it is possible to have a single sludge dryer which can take slurry from MEE as well as decanted sludge from ETP plants and other sources simultaneously.
